Easter Traditions in the USA

Being a rather multinational country, the USA does not follow the unique model of Easter celebrations. That is why the entertainment and meals in this day are very different in various families.

Some people prefer to stay at home, others prefer to spend this day in the city part, trying, for example, their self balancing scooter after the long winter break.

It is not a secret that most American always love eating something delicious. On Easter, most people of this country have a lot of different food on their tables, which are richly decorated with baskets of flowers. Lily is especially appreciated. Why? - Because it is considered to be a symbol of this special occasion.

Religious Americans usually go to church, and then some of them are involved in the traditional fun, represented by rolling the eggs along the sloping lawn. Of course, this game is a perfect way to relax for children. By the way, the biggest competition takes place on the lawn near the White House. Hundreds of families come there, holding their basket of colored eggs. If the weather is good, some parents bring kids ride on toys there as well in order to entertain their small sons and daughters.

A significant part of the American population is represented by Catholics, the people, who adore to enjoy themselves, organizing interesting events. For example, in Boston (Massachusetts) on this holiday you can find the special doll, depicting the Prophet Moses with the tablets of the covenant in his hands, Queen Esther and Jesus Christ. These dolls can even say phrases from the Bible and cost $ 10. Initially, they were created by the married couple, who began to teach their daughter the Bible basics just by using just such unusual toys.

Among many others, there is another very interesting American to paint the Easter eggs. The eggs have to be boiled at first. Then you should paint them and try to decorate as beautifully as you can. But it is for adults, of course. For children, there is another very interesting game. They organize the so-called "hunt" for eggs. According to the tradition, Easter Bunny hides Easter eggs in the grass in the yard, and children should find all the hidden Easter eggs. The bigger, the better! As children love sweets and toys, contemporary Easter eggs are made of plastic and filled with candies and toys. Some parents even purchase kids ride on cars for sale for their children to do it quicker than others. When hunting for Easter eggs is over, all the trophies should be counted and eaten, of course.

The next day, on Monday, on the White House lawn the annual Easter eggs competition is held. The US President takes an active part in this celebration. All in all this custom came to America from Britain and is cultivated thoroughly, as it brings a lot of fun both to adults and to children.

In the evening everyone gathers at the rich family table, and have main dishes, represented by potatoes, ham with pineapple and fruit salads.

The Easter presents usually include baskets with colored eggs and lots of different sweets. Traditionally each egg contains a question and the person, who has received it, should answer it as soon as possible.
